Indigo Plows $156 Million Into Sustainable Agriculture

    Indigo Ag Inc., which uses microbes to make crops more productive, has gathered $156 million and tapped into investor interest in technologies to help farmers meet the food requirements of a growing population.

    By 2050 the world population will climb to nearly 10 billion from about 7.5 billion today. With moderate economic growth, that increase would drive up demand for agriculture products by 50% over today’s levels, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
