Boston, Massachusetts, January 18, 2018 – Indigo Ag, Inc., a company dedicated to harnessing nature to help farmers sustainably feed the planet, welcomed Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker to the company’s headquarters in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, on Wednesday to officiate the opening of their expanded global headquarters. Indigo is a consumer-focused agriculture startup, helping to elevate the city of Boston as an innovation hub on a global stage. As a core part of its growth plan, Indigo continues to expand its Boston-based team and facilities.
“Massachusetts continues to lead the nation in research, technology, and innovation because of companies like Indigo and their commitment to Massachusetts,” said Governor Charlie Baker. “Our administration continues to prioritize investments and partnerships that build on those strengths and welcome Indigo’s decision to expand here in the Commonwealth.”
During his visit, Governor Baker met with Indigo’s President and CEO, David Perry, and leadership team, as well as with its Board of Directors, to learn more about Indigo’s microbial technology, vision for agriculture, and role in Boston’s community of innovators. He toured Indigo’s newly expanded offices, research labs, and greenhouses. The Governor also held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for employees to inaugurate the new space.
“Governor Baker has demonstrated deep support for the life sciences ecosystem of Massachusetts,” said David Perry. “As a part of this ecosystem, Indigo is committed to strengthening farmer profitability, meeting consumer needs, and supporting environmental sustainability.”
