Michel de Fontaine, VP of Information Technology, arrives at Indigo with wide-ranging expertise in IT strategy and business systems. Most recently, de Fontaine served as technology lead and one of the founding executives of Fresh Formats, an Ahold Delhaize venture that launched bfresh, an innovative take on the small urban grocery store.
de Fontaine spearheaded the company’s overall technology strategy, devised a scalable and customer-oriented technology platform, and led the implementation of business systems to support the launch and growth of the company. As Vice President of IT Strategy and Architecture there, de Fontaine led the effort to define the technology roadmap for the company, established standards and governance, and launched a technology innovation function.
In addition to high-level leadership experience, de Fontaine brings deep knowledge in IT program delivery, which he acquired through previous roles as Director of IT Business Systems at Anheuser-Busch Inbev and Senior Manager of Business & Systems Integrations at Accenture.
"My passion is using technology to help solve difficult business challenges. There may be no bigger challenge than figuring out how to sustainably feed the world. We have the opportunity to use technology to dramatically benefit both growers and consumers. I’m thrilled to be able to work with such a dedicated team on this mission."
