Corporate Development Intern

We are excited to add a Corporate Development Intern to our team! As a Corporate Development Intern at Indigo, you will have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and will play a key role across Indigo to execute on a variety of projects and initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Corporate Development, you will work closely with other teams at Indigo, including our Sustainability Solutions, Biological Products, Innovation / R&D and Commercial teams. Through contributing to key projects and learning from industry leaders, you will develop valuable skills critical to the operation of a fast-paced, impact-driven organization.

An ideal candidate would be an Undergraduate Senior (Class of 2025) or Rising Senior (Class of 2026), majoring in a field related to environmental, sustainability, natural science studies or business (finance, accounting, etc.) that is passionate about enabling an immediate, scalable impact in our world.

For undergraduate students, this is a 3-month internship with the possibility of extension. For recent graduates, this is a temporary position with the potential for extension or transition into a permanent role. The position runs from June 2 to August 22, 2025, with a preferred location in Boston, MA. The hourly wage ranges from $20 to $25, based on experience, for approximately 40 hours per week.

What You'll Do:

  • Educational: Understand the role of Corporate Development in a fast-paced start-up environment and be seen as a leader in the Indigo organization with clear ambition to take their career to the next level.
  • Educational: Develop a broad set of analytical capabilities, interpersonal skills and top tier financial modeling skills / experience, including the ability to gather data, synthesize and develop actionable insights for executive decision-making.
  • Experience: Understand Indigo’s business fundamentals and become capable of articulating them to external parties in a concise, professional and compelling manner.
  • Experience: Support the Corporate Development team in the execution of mission-critical projects to support business growth, including the following:
    • Support investor relations and financing strategy / execution workstreams to raise growth capital for Indigo.
    • Support short and long-term strategic planning workstreams to support Executive / Board-Level decision making.
    • Research and evaluate novel growth opportunities to enable Indigo to achieve or exceed its goals and present an evidence-based recommendation to Indigo’s executive team.
    • Evaluate potential M&A and partnership opportunities including developing a list of target companies for consideration.
    • Support our Biologicals and Sustainability business teams on on-going strategic projects, including: market sizing, industry trends analysis, competitive analyses, business development workstreams, and financial planning & analysis.
    • Prepare mission-critical analyses and materials to be ultimately used for Board, Executive and Investor-facing presentations.

What You'll Bring

  • Undergraduate Senior (Class of 2025) or Rising Senior (Class of 2026); ideally majoring in a field related to environmental / sustainability / natural science studies or business (finance, accounting, etc.)
  • Boston-based candidates; Remote position also available for exceptional candidates
  • Demonstrated passion for solving sustainability, environmental and agricultural challenges
  • Understanding of foundational finance and accounting concepts preferred, but not required
  • Has foundational experience with Excel and PowerPoint, with willingness to learn / interest in financial modelling or other advanced analytical skills in Excel
  • Demonstrates strong strategic and critical thinking skills, with exceptional attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Be seen as analytically minded, smart, and quickly able to grasp new concepts and ideas
  • Comfortable communicating and presenting to a wide range of audiences, including but not limited to Indigo colleagues, farmers, investors, and executives
  • Exceptional resourcefulness in getting the job done with limited guidance or instructions
  • Ability to manage and prioritize several workstreams simultaneously
  • Willing to perform any task required to drive a project to successful completion, ranging from in-depth strategic analysis to day-to-day logistics coordination
  • Work autonomously and in a self-directed manner but always within the expectations of and parameters set by the Head of Corporate Development and other business leaders
  • Set and maintain high standards for self and the team
  • Possess strong EQ (interpersonal and relationship building skills)
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and well-structured communication skills
