The Carbon Farming Connection: Cut Through the Chatter on Carbon Markets and Farming

    July 28, 2022

The recent growth of carbon credit markets has generated a lot of interest and talk in the ag sector. As with any new opportunity or product, there is a learning curve. Just think about how much each one of us has learned about cell phones since that market developed about 20 years ago. We now know what to look for in the phone and service, how to use them efficiently, and how to make them as beneficial to our needs as possible.

The agricultural carbon credit market is in its first few years of development and growth. And just like other markets or products, a number of misconceptions or assumptions stand in the way of getting accurate information to make the best use of the opportunity. This can be frustrating for farmers as they seek to take advantage of the growing opportunity of carbon markets, but lack clear information.

Join us to separate fact from fiction at the next Carbon Farming Connection, a virtual educational event on August 10, at 11:30 AM CT. You’ll hear straight talk from a range of farming experts to dispel misconceptions and provide insights into ag carbon credit markets.

    • The first session, moderated by Farm Journal’s Chip Flory, will dig directly into the chatter to separate fact from fiction around carbon markets and carbon farming. When you register, you can let us know what you are hearing and we will add it to the discussion.
    • The second session will give you practical tips on what questions to ask when evaluating carbon programs.
We hope to see you there!
